Business Technology

The Business Technology (BSTEC) department prepares students with the technical skills and knowledge to be successful in a variety of business positions. This is a very flexible program that prepares students to work in a variety of industries, in a multitude of positions ranging from entry-level to managerial. Students will master office technology skills including Microsoft (MS) Office, web design, and managing social media for businesses. In addition to technology skills, students will learn to be effective business communicators, team players, and leaders.

To keep our program current, the BSTEC Department has an advisory committee comprised of experts from business and industry who volunteer their time to evaluate curriculum and verify that our programs meet the current needs of employers.

In addition to having academic credentials, BSTEC faculty are required to have work experience related to the field in which they are teaching. Thus, students are exposed to current work practices while they are learning concepts and perfecting the skills that will be needed in the workforce.

Associate Degrees

Enroll in Highline College’s Administrative Management Associate of Applied Science (AAS) program and you will learn valuable technology and office management skills you need to succeed in today’s competitive work environment.

With a variety of business technology courses, Highline’s 2-year AAS degree will help you get the well-rounded education you need to excel in this exciting field. In addition to learning specific technology skills, students will learn effective business communication, applied business math and basic accounting, leadership, supervision, and team building skills.
