Exploratory
As a new college student, you have many programs to choose from. At times, this can feel daunting. Maybe you don’t know what you want to study, or maybe you want to study everything. The Exploratory Pathway is for you!
During your first 15 credits, a “First Year Experience” course will prepare you for success as a Highline student. Highline offers a few different First Year Experience courses:
- COL 101 – Strengthening Navigational Skills: Connect with other students and explore resources, student success strategies, and degree pathways at the college.
- STEM 101 – Pathway to STEM Success: Explore a wide range of careers possible in science, technology, engineering, and math.
- COL 105 – Navigating College: Engage in collaboration, goal setting, and career exploration as you build an online presence to prepare for college and post-graduation success.
- HEAL 102 – Introduction to Healthcare Professions: Learn about different healthcare jobs and strategies for college success.
- BUSN 199 – Orientation to Business: Explore a wide range of careers and opportunities possible in business.
Any of these courses will help you explore pathways and learn what resources are available to you as a student. Combined with transferable courses in our Associate in Arts DTA degree, this will give you a strong start on your journey to a 4-year college or university.
