Geography

Geography is more than looking at countries and cities on maps. Geography today is about the economic, political, cultural and environmental interconnections between people and places. Taking geography will teach you to think critically, spatially, and analytically — all important career skills. In our geography classes (whether online, remote or in person), you will gain an up-to-date, practical understanding of how today’s world works. These classes will help you meet the Social Science requirements of your AAS, enable you to transfer to the school of your choice for a bachelor’s degree in geography, or serve as elective options for a variety of different pathways.

Career

At Highline you can take Geography classes that contribute to your AA-Transfer degree. You can then continue as a geography major at a four-year college or university, and obtain a Geography BA. Geography graduates address important social and environmental issues with jobs in fields like health care, global trade, data visualization, geographic information systems, urban planning, land use and transportation management, wildlife and habitat conservation, international affairs, intelligence and security, economic development, supply chain analysis, energy management, and the information industry.

Associate Degrees

The AA-Transfer degree is designed to facilitate successful transfer to four-year programs.
